Great site for stopover

This is a very well designed site. The proximity to Glasgow and Strathclyde Country park are plus points. The site is well managed, clean and pitches are generous. The motorhome facilities are easy to use. Depending on the wind there can be noise from the motorway but this did not bother us. We had pitch number 1 and I was surprised by the number of members cutting through this pitch to the toilet block (it’s not a big walk round on the path) or even cutting through with dogs to the dog walk (also therefore walking across the tent field). Perhaps roping off the gap between the hedge and the toilet block would solve this issue, but it’s a shame it is needed.

Good site and convenient but…

Been here quite a few times before but this time there have been a couple of things which just don’t sit right. Firstly, we were presented with a barrier card on arrival and told there was no need to tell the staff where we were. This does mean that someone who has booked a standard pitch could easily stay on a serviced pitch at no extra cost and would not be caught out unless all the service pitches were booked up and the last arrival had no where to go. Shades of musical chairs? Also it does mean that if a member needs to be urgently contacted the site staff don’t have the first idea where they are and will have to race round the site to find them. Let’s hope that if this does happen they have given the correct number plate for their car or Motorhome or the staff will need a crystal ball. Secondly we can see at least 3 or 4 caravans with no wastemaster out meaning any waste water leaving the van is going straight onto the pitch. We have also seen one of the occupants of these vans just tossing her washing up bowl of water onto the pitch. What we have not seen is the manager addressing this issue with the caravanners concerned. This is a disappointing turn of events as we had always assumed all site managers had worked for the club long enough to know what is and is not appropriate.

Good stopover

A very good stopover on the way up and down Scotland. We did both. Nice walk to lake and ideal to visit the area. Next to the motorway but couldn't hear it. Nicely spaced out pitches. Showers good and toilets and laundry facilities. Very busy site, open surrounded by trees. Could have filled the hand gel dispensers more as some were empty. Will definitely stay again.

Useful stopover and for visiting Glasgow - even on bikes!

This was our second visit to this site, this time as part of a road/cycling trip on our way over to the west coast. Agree with other reviews about the superb facilities and super friendly staff, and I'd also mention the great size of the pitches and how well laid out the site is. It's true though, that there is constant traffic noise as you are right next to a very busy motorway interchange. We ventured over that interchange on our bikes at the beginning of a cycle ride into Glasgow - the cycle route takes you over two bridges where you can smugly glide over the snarled up traffic below, before wending your way along cycle routes 74 and 75 into Glasgow, much of the way along the banks of the Clyde and none of the time on busy roads.

A good stopover site...

We stayed at Strathclyde for one night to break our journey to Scotland. The site is easily found off the motorway and as always with CAMC sites it was well laid out, spotlessly clean with spacious pitches, and friendly Wardens. The site also had a decent dog walk. The site is very open however with no screening to dampen the noise from the motorway and the dual carriageway which border it. It might not bother some but we found it very noisy. So for us, it would only ever be a stopover for a night but in truth we would probably try to find somewhere a little quieter.

Welcoming site

This was my first time at this site and my first time at a club site as a new member, and we were given such a lovely welcome by the friendly and helpful staff. The facilities are absolutely spotless and a well-organsied site. You can hear some traffic noise from the motorway but to be honest it's not a big issue. The little one loved the play park on site and the visits from wildlife like geese and we even saw a deer! It's a fantastic location for us to visit family nearby, we used this visit as a bit of a recce and will absolutely be staying again in the future.

Fantastic location

We absolutely love this site for its location and friendly staff who are always there when you need help and advice, we also store our caravan here as it’s great to book in for a couple of nights before we head further north and to stay before we head home, yes it’s true you can here the road noise but it’s something you get used to very quickly, we are now looking forward to are next visit.

Love this place

We stay here often as its so handy for us. The Wardens are always very welcoming, our latest stay ended the same day it started and the wardens on duty could not have done enough to assist us. Yes there is some traffic noise but you get use to it. Great facilities and so handy for Glasgow. Already booked are next couple of stays.

Fantastic welcome, Great site

Welcome was very good. Clear instructions on the site layout (hadn't been before) and also instructions on how covid procedures worked with toilet block. Facilities were epically clean, and the 4 disc system to control numbers in the toilet block made me feel safe and confident in using them. Wardens were very friendly and easy to chat to. Very helpful when it came to extending our stay unexpectedly by another day. They also assisted with the adjustment to a subsequent booking to another site as part of our journey home. The site is very clean and well maintained. The only small negative was the proximity of the motorway. It wasn't too bad (have heard worse), but the drone was constant. We slept well though, so no major complaints. The flipside of being near the motorway is that it is an easily accessible location. We have a long caravan and there were no access issues. Would visit again next time I fancy some more cold weather and rain. :)

Great Site

Arrived to a lovely and friendly welcome from wardens. Spacious pitches and well laid out. Motorway noise in background but didn’t bother us at all. Easy walk to M&Ds theme park and Strathclyde Loch. Excellent walks around Loch. Toddler room excellent- with toilet, changing table, good size bath with shower head, well heated room & spotlessly clean. Wardens came round with a lovely surprise Hogmanay gift bag, very thoughtful and much appreciated. Can not fault this site or wardens in any way.
