Usual clean and well run club site

BUT it is at a junction of the M74 so it's not hidden away in the country park and as other reviews the constant traffic drone 24x7 is intrusive, Good location for stop overs and Glasgow but not for a quiet break.

Worth a visit in its own right, not just a stopover

We stayed overnight on our way to/from Skye. On both occasions we received the warmest of welcomes. Wardens at other sites could learn a thing or two from the wardens here. The pitches are spacious and we chose a spot near the water/waste points to minimise time and effort spent setting up/packing up for a one night stay. We didn't use any facilities so can't comment but the site is clean and well-maintained. Our only disappointment is that we chose it as a one night stopover. We could happily spend a few days here. Yes, there is traffic noise but that's the price you pay for the convenience of staying within a couple of minutes from a motorway and it did not detract from our enjoyment of our brief stays here.

Immaculate

What a superb site which is maintained to within an inch of perfection. Large roomy pitches, immaculate facilities and incredibly helpful wardens. Good dog walking area but the park is also adjacent. A brief walk from site is a Toby Carvery who do very good value meals - roasts were great but for an orgasmic experience try the rhubarb sundae!

A pleasant one night stopover

Recently had one night here as a convenient stop for our journey to North Wales.Wardens were welcoming. Facilities were excellent on this well kept site. It is located on the A74 so has some traffic noise. We would definitely use again as a handy stopover.

Great site

Spent 3 nights there in mid April 2015.  Spotless roomy site ideal for families.  Used it as a hub for touring National Trust properties for which, it was perfect.  Roadworks near site make it "interesting" leaving site with caravan in tow as traffic levels require patience to find a suitable gap in the traffic.  Not the quietest of sites but roadworks largely accountable for that.  Will we be back?  Answer is probably yes.  Great site.

super few days away

Came down here from Aberdeen with the grasndkids  for a few days. Stayed from the 13th till the 17th April. Lovely well kept site. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It had a play area for the kids and just up the road they had M&D fun park and plenty of parks all round with play areas. good location if you want to go to Glasgow for shopping plenty to do if you want. Or you can just chill by your caravan.

A Great Easter Break

We stayed at the site from 3rd to 6th April and had a really lovely time. The warden was very welcoming on arrival - which always means a lot to us. As others have said - the wardens can either make or break your holiday and we couldn't fault them. The facilities are second to none and were always very clean. It was lovely that the dishwashing area never closed and as the warden said - they try and work around the visitors - which means such a lot. One or two other club sites should follow suit and learn from this. The road noise wasn't too intrusive for us. We only really heard it when we sat outside the caravan but since we were expecting it - it is a matter of 'grinning and bearing it'. Location wise it is only 30 mins to Glasgow and about one hour to Loch Lomond. We visited both. We will definitely stay at the site again. Well done to the wardens for making our stay so good and taking so much pride in the site.

Very average

We stayed here as a stop over before our onward journey to the west coast and feel quite disappointed. Our welcome was not warm and after travelling for some 6 hours this made me quite cross. Basically the site is a big carpark at the side of the M74. Noisy, busy and lacking any kind of character. We walked our dogs and never found the country park? Just a run down funfair and lorry park. If this is the newest of the sites to be opened by CC it is disappointing. The shower block was however clean and well serviced with hot water. We shall not be returning

why are bins not emptied regularly as they were before

We like this site and have used it often as we have family nearby. This easter however we found that on several occasions the bins had not been emptied and bags were lying outside the bins. We are aware that Easter is often the start of the season but after 32 years in the Caravan Club we are so used to the bins being emptied first thing every morning and the water and disposal areas cleaned as well.  The grass needs cutting now too. Lets get back to the standards we always had

Easter Break

A lovely four night break over Easter. The site provided an ideal base for exploring Glasgow, Edinburgh and further afield. We left our motorhome on pitch and used the Caravan Club deal with Enterprise rent-a-car to get out and about (they will pick you up and bring you back to the site). Friendly welcome, spacious pitches and spotless facilities. Yes, there was some noise from the adjoining M8 but we didn't find this too intrusive. An excellent short break and we will definitely return again when in the area.
