Doggy paradise

We have returned after a week's stay at Stover and what a gem it is! It's not really a family site, with there not being any facilities on site, having said that, there were a few children on bikes. The site is best suited to older couples who want peace and quiet but being within easy access of the coast and Dartmoor. There is some road noise so pitch away from the road if possible. It had been very wet so the grass pitches were not in use and the hard standings are VERY hard-we had problems getting some of our pegs in. If you have a dog, it's fantastic with the country park next door. I walked our dog twice a day in the park and found a different route each time. It also served as a very useful meeting point with the locals, who were more than happy to suggest the best places to walk or eat. We didn't visit Trago Mills as it is not dog friendly. The Friday night chip van produced excellent fish and chips. We will definitely return
