What a surprise!
This was our first visit to Stonehaven. It appeared to me that the site was a stepping off point for Aberdeen. The site staff were new so could offer no advice. What a surprise to find a delightful town. There is no promenade instead a boardwalk takes you from the site along the beach, to the harbour. Enjoy fresh lobster, straight off the boat! The town has a good selection of shops, a town hall in the main square and some beautiful buildings just back from the sea front. Aberdeen is a bus ride away as the park and rides have a height restrictions for Motorhomes. A nice city but disappointingly quiet. The Covid restrictions have had quite an effect on what should be a vibrant city.
Plenty of lovely coastal walks straight off the site. Pretty good cycling as long as you are ok with some steep hills!
A well located site and a surprising nice area to explore. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
