One of my top 10 campsites
We stayed 4 nights at Steamer Quay end of October and it was simply not enough. The location is fantastic with the unique Totnes high street 5 minutes walk away. The high street blew us away with all the independent shops and coffee shops. The canal walk in front of the site was perfect for first walk of the day with our dog who could be off her lead and walk a mile each way before getting to end of tow path. We went to Salcombe, Coleton Fishacre, Slapton Sands , Dartmouth and Blackpool Sands where we swam with two grey seals - all so close by - just spoiled for choices. We also did a beautiful walk to Sharpham vineyard which is on the opposite side of the river to the campsite and again fantastic views of the River Dart. The campsite itself is spotlessly clean, super quiet and the team running the campsite were really friendly and helpful. We had a roomy pitch backing on to the boat park and hearing the halyards at night together with the owls and migrating birds was just blissful. The site has just been renovated and even the grass was shiny and clean!! We will definitely be back, so much to see and do and beautiful campsite. What more could you want!
