Good for families

Excellent for adult short breaks

We arrived at Steamer Quay just a couple of days after the site re-opened fully following refurbishment. We had stayed previously, before EHU installed. We got a friendly greeting and instructions for the smart metering. The third party app for the electricity account is unbearably slow, but clear to understand once the web pages eventually load. The updated block still retains the outer shell of the previous one but is all new inside. It’s still very small. The ladies toilet cubicles are the smallest ever! Not even room for the roll holder and sani bins in the usual positions. Only 2 showers. Also an accessible bathroom (which was not yet in use). A 2 sink wash up room, which gets busy in the evening. Site itself is neatly laid out in all gravel service hardstandings and new turf. No awning pitches. Just a couple of pitches which will take very long units. We love this site for the proximity to town and the riverside walks. There’s a Morrisons a short walk away plus many independent food shops, coffee shops, pubs and quirky shops selling all manner of clothes/home decorations, clothes, crystals, novelties and jewellery. For 2 adults ima Motorhome and a dog, there’s nothing to dislike here. Will be a firm favourite and will likely be as popular as Baltic Wharf, Bristol. At the time of our stay In October, the weather was decidedly wet but the site was just about full.
