Super site

We spent seven lovely nights at this site, which has to be one of the nicest on the network. The approach roads are narrow and you need to travel with care from Kingsbridge to the site, but the views are lovely and the setting, once you arrive is idyllic. We took a pitch up the hill near the exit. These are the least used on the site apparently, because of road noise. It did not disturb us at all! As the site is laid out on several levels along the side of the valley, it feels smaller than it actually is. The wardens are very helpful and run a useful shop also supplying daily papers, the site is immaculately kept by them with the toilet block deserving of special mention. There are several small villages close to the site, with good pubs offering food and drink. Some of these are within moderate walking distance of the site. A regular and well used bus service runs past the site which can make for interesting enounters on the narrow roads. I met the bus both towing to and from the site, it is easy to pass so long as you don't try to press on too fast (which sadly seems to the local way). Further afield Dartmouth with ferries, a river steamer, and a steam railway also has numerous places to eat and drink, although parking can be a problem at weekends. Altogether, a really nice site in a very interesting area.
