Lovely site!

Stayed for just over a week in August in small campervan. Site extremely well maintained, facilities immaculate - close for about 45 mins each morning for cleaning. Yes they are dated but from the earlier reviews I thought they would be older - plenty of showers/toilets. Wardens great! Fish & chip van visits once a week. Portions large and price very reasonable. Friendly farm shop (largest I've ever seen - papers, groceries, butchers etc) with café serving everything from snacks to pub style (but home made) meals with live music some nights and only a 10 min walk - outstanding. 2 pubs 10 mins walk the other direction but didn't visit. One on main road never seemed to be open, one set back was recommended. Told food very good but pricy. Another one 5 mins further on in village. 15-20 min walk to beach and small shop/post office with 1 pub and 1 restaurant. Sampled each, both very good- prices ave £9. Beach is shingle but plenty of parking if you get there before 10.30. Estuary so 'tide' always in. Pay & display about £7 for the day. Large wildlife 'pond' across the way with viewing points for bird spotting. Kingsbridge really lovely. Also has a large Tesco and Morrisons. Large car park by marina as you go in. Beware town is uphill from there. In other direct is Blackpool sands - sandy beach and small shop (pricey!!)Dartmouth a bit further on which is very pretty with few niche shops and lots of places to eat and people watch. Sainsburys here at top of very steep hill (follow signs to Totnes- another good place to visit). Would return to this site. TIP: Public toilets in the area are usually 20p so take change. Sat navs take you down single track roads so take a map and look at the site directions which are more sensible.
