Beautiful campsite spoilt by the behaviour of a wa

We have stayed in Lleithyr meadow a number of times but this is the first time I have felt the need to write a review and a negative one at that. Beautiful location with a 15 minute walk to Whitesands bay with excellent quiet cycling nearby. What spoilt the holiday for me was the behaviour of a particular male warden. On an almost daily basis initially I felt I was being watched and told off by particular male warden- not allowed to put anything on the fence, not allowed to put up a washing line, we agreed that we would take it down but he demanded that it should be taken down immediately. He was quite intimidating. The toilet block does not close at 10 am but at 9.50 the wardens were standing guard at the toilet block entrance preventing people from going in. Shouting at people to wear mask as they approach the toilet block, saying it was the law in Wales (which it is not- guidance is to have face coverings). Warden driving on their lawn mowers faster than 5mph. One neighbour told me they were told off by the male warden within 5 minutes of arrival. Welsh signs clearly translated by google translate. I would not to return to Lleithyr meadow whist that warden is still there. I am going to look how much it costs to join the friendly club.

I always find someone who leaves a review with an attack on one member of staff usually has done nothing but flout the clubs rules washing lines tied across to a fence from a van surely pose a risk to someone walking past or even sites staff using machinery common sence surely? At the time of replying Wales still requires the wearing of face coverings in enclosed areas did the reviewer not read what rules the welsh government set out obviously not! If I was to clean a toilet block I am sure i wouldn`t want someone turning up at the last minute then spending 15 mins or more in the facilities while i was trying to clean them. Good luck joining the other club my advice would be make sure you read their site rules or you may just find yourself on the wrong end of one of their staff too. I have found the sites staff very friendly & hard working at St Davids never been an issue but again follow the rules & you won`t have a problematic break but a happy enjoyable stay.

I would not want to end up beside someone who treats their pitch like a laundry or traveller site. That's why the rules are there.

I stayed for six nights recently and never saw these cheery wardens stop for a moment.

Good luck with the other club , you'l enjoy being "TOLD" this is your allocated pitch and

NO you cannot change just because you don't like it

And washing lines are not allowed and rightly so , why should anyone have to look at your clothes
