Just back from a week in St Agnes as our only trip this year, got the weather right for a change , Nothing changes here not even covid can alter the best sea views on the best site in Cornwall,(for us) the wardens Viv and Ray were their usual welcoming, helpful selves going above and beyond normal duties ,all in all a great stay.
A nice few days
Early September visit to a nearly full site. Site is nicely maintained, with what facilities there are -water, waste, electricity and MH service point-clean and in good order. Most pitches are sloping and some to such an extent that the large "Quatro" levelling blocks couldn't cope. Approach lanes are narrow in places and arrivals/departures need to heed the permitted times to avoid encountering problems.
Well controlled check in from a COVID point of view, with the Club going the extra mile to protect its staff. Although this does seem to be seriously limiting member services, I was surprised to be told to be extra careful on the all grass pitches, as rain was expected and COVID rules dont allow wardens to tow bogged down units out!
I was also surprised that having taken its obligation to its staff so seriously the Club accepted a group booking from seven or eight men in two hired motor homes who, from conversation, were clearly from several different households. COVID risks aside, their "drunken" outdoor argument, which followed their return from the pub, ran on until 0100 or there abouts, did little for the peace and tranquillity of the site!
The site is excellently located for access to the Coat Path and Chapel Porth beach. With a nice tea room (outdoor service) nearby. The Driftwood Spars Inn, situated by the beach in Trevaunance Cove, served great food in a very safe environment.
One of the best!
This is definitely in our top three sites. Probably because the location is so wonderful with only a quick walk to the beach, albeit all uphill on the way back. There are no facilities which we obviously knew before we booked but I think it’s the better for it. It’s no bother to use your onboard facilities, it makes you more mindful of water usage😁. It is just a field really but the glorious weather and wonderful location made our whole break just perfect. We did get a list of pitches that were available but that’s because it had been raining the previous week and some were very wet. We were told we could pick any if we wanted and we did, our chocks did sink in a bit but all was fine. Finally, although our site information told us that dogs weren’t allowed on Chapel Porth beach and so did the signs in the car park of the beach itself, there were lots and lots of dogs on the beach. The National Trust staff members that were in the car park office didn’t seem to mind. If I’d known, we could have taken ours but chose not to bring him on the break for that reason.

Disappointing, despite the great location
Great location, peaceful and brilliant views from most of the site. However, given the Covid-19 situation, the site felt overcrowded, especially compared to other CMC and commercial sites. The list of available pitches we were given to choose from on arrival seemed incomplete. Other, flatter, pitches were definitely available. Another motorhome which arrived after us insisted on using one of these empty level pitches and was not asked to move. It is far easier to level a caravan than a motorhome! It's bad enough having to pay the same for a smaller pitch, without being offered the worst pitches too. I was also extremely disappointed to see that some CMC members are willing to visit a less expensive CMC site with no facilities and then to walk to the 5* commercial site next door to use their showers. Shame on you. Wardens should tell people this is not allowed.

Beautiful views and walks
This site had some beautiful views although can be windy. Lovely walks with the south West coast path close by. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the nearest beaches as they are national trust, which was disappointing. Nice site.
Our first visit - impressed!
Great site with a friendly and helpful welcome from the 'holiday-cover' wardens Jan and Steve. Sloping pitches yes but that means you can get clearer views of the coastline. Spectacular sunsets and great walks, lovely beach nearby. Quiet, very clean & tidy... couldn't fault our first experience of a CAMC site.
Cracking Site
Had a fantastic week in Cornwall at the beginning of August.
Not sure what the previous reviewer meant by the attitude of the wardens. They were lovely and couldn't have bee more helpful, even pointing me to possibly the best view pitch on the site!
Cracking site, albeit rather windy!
Excellent 2 week break
This is an excellent kept site with an amazing view, the site is kept very clean and the staff are very helpful. The location is right near the beach and there are alot of interesting walks in the area. We had an brilliant holiday and the site is nice and quiet .
Just perfect
First visit and certainly won't be our last. Location is stunning with fantastic coastal walks. The view from the site is great too. Wardens very friendly and kept the site in tip top condition. Fish and chip van visits site and great little coffee shop 5 mins walk away that sells cream teas, coffee, cake and delicious ice cream.

Part of our memories forever!
We have been visiting the site as a family for around 15 years and have stayed at the site for 2 weeks on at least 10 occasions. It is a very well kept site with lovely coastal views and when the weather's fine you can see the most breathtaking sunset over Wheal Coats from the cliffs opposite. It is within east reach of Perranporth for bodyboarding with the kids or the pubs and restaurants of St Agnes which is a little more up market and less busy. Over the years our children have met many others who holiday there year on year and haven't missed the facilities. There are a lot of older people on the park but most families who visit have always been sensible and respectful and there has been very little disharmony over the years. The beach at St Agnes is also worth a stroll and a big uphill hike on the way back will get the circulation going. There is a pub and a bar at the beach to enjoy a G&T whilst watching the surfers. We find it relaxing and beautiful. There is no playground for kids and no showers or wash area so your caravan facilities need to be good. Chapel porth and porthtowan beaches are within a 30 min and hours' walk and are well worth a visit. Newquay is 30 minutes by car. Our kids are in their late teens so we had one last family holiday this year as due to COVID they had no other choice! They enjoyed it much more than they thought they would. Next year we'll still visit as a couple and can't recommend it highly enough. If you want relaxation with plenty of life within reach, St Agnes Beacon is the place to go!
