Good for families

One of our favourite sites

The arrival was as always exemplary, greeted by helpful and cheerful wardens (don't know if that's what we should now call them, but meant in nice way). Told about a small number of pitches that could possible flood in bad weather and that these were marked out with cones. However the weather forecast didn't predict any rain so if we felt okay we could remove the cones and use them. The ambiance of the whole site is so relaxing, the only intrusion was the occasional mindless idiot who thought it necessary to make as much noise as possible on the road running behind the site. The facilities are as to be expected from the C&MC. Our weekend stay coincided with the Southport Food & Drinks Festival and with the fine weather this proved to be a fantastic opportunity to experience a vast array of different foods and drinks. It really enhanced our stay and would certainly consider visiting the festival again. But, I digress, food and drink does this to me. Southport site for my wife, me and our two dogs suits us down to the ground. The excellent flat large gravel pitches (important for us as motor homers) are set around two sections with a layout to suit all different sizes and combinations. One thing to note though is that the perimeter pitches do have frequent visits from the rabbit population and if you have pets that may be a problem, especially as these rabbits have lost a lot of their timidness and will come very close. Overall we have frequented this site at differing times even once over the Christmas period and it has never been a let down. It's proximity to Southport Town, the Promenade, Victoria Park and even a large Morrison's all being within walking distance make it so easy to set-up and just enjoy.
