Good for families

The new part of the site needs to mature with some tree planting.

Stopped off here for three nights mid-June on our way back North. The esplanade sounds that it should be attractive but it is a rather bleak road. We had a serviced pitch in the newer southern area of the site which compared with the rest of the site is still a bit bleak. There were areas of long grass where we were looking for evidence of tree planting but we could not see any. The toilet block (TB2) was immaculate but was surrounded by a maze of controlling fences. I rolled over these a few times to avoid a longer walk as did several others. With public footpaths crossing the site security is a bit of concern especially as the warden had posted notices about increased cycle thefts. Some site photos at https://www.flickr.com/photos/g0cqk/sets/72157654810741748 - - - - - Some of Southport is a kind of slightly up market Blackpool but Lord Street is a class above and definitely worth a long stroll. Two of us spent money shopping while one of us took photographs!!!. https://www.flickr.com/photos/g0cqk/sets/72157655208731842 We visited Kings Gardens on Sunday which is an excellent example of a traditional Victorian style park.
