Southport. Large site close to town and beach
Stopped 2 nights en-route to the Lakes from Sussex. Easy access. Wonderful friendly and helpful welcome. Level pitches. Walking distance to Southport beaches and town centre shops/attractions. In our two days we visited Formby dunes (Nat Trust) and walked around the woods spotting red squirrels - also you can visit "Another Place" Anthony Gormley's statues on the beach at Crosby. The car park here was free and motorhome friendly. Southport is a large site (recently extended). The facilities were 5 star.
