We have stayed at this site and many occasions. It is a great site and the wardens are fantastic. We have normally stayed in the Spring or Summer so it was very different in February. We had a very wet and windy two day stop. Despite this we had a good time and managed a number of walks. There was lots of floods and surface water around. The new area of the site and toilet block was closed. That was not a problem. The paths into Victoria Park were under water and the road at the front of the site was under water. So to exit the site on foot and for dog walking meant you had to wade through water. Once on the park it was dry. The main disappointment, which was a surprise, is the lack of dog friendly cafes and pubs in the town. We had hoped to visit the Fishermen's only to be told dogs are not allowed in the pub when they serve food. Despite the above we will return
