Lovely site / one bad staff member

This is a lovely very clean site in an excellent location on edge of Southport. Things got bad for us when we were entering the site and met the staff member on the gate a Scottish gentleman he firstly accused us of jumping the que at the gate, this was simply untrue we pulled up at other side of gate in order not to prevent blocking the road and when vans were let in fellow campers were waving us in front of them to go into the site. His attitude and mannerisim from the offset was very off putting he informed us we had a non awning pitch which we had booked it turned out he had mixed our booking up with my parents booking and this was resolved. He directed us where to go and had great pleasure in telling us "YOU WILL NOT BE NEXT TO YOUR PARENTS PITCH". Things like this really get to me a was here with my kids for the weekend competing in a Triathalon after I was setting up i felt I needed to confront the individal as I felt I had done nothing wrong at all. I went back to reception to find that individual had left and spoke with another staff member who was very pleasant and informed me I am not the first nor will be the last to complain of this individuals tone and mannerisim. I felt as though I was being talked to as though I was in the army. We then had a 2nd run in with the same gentleman 2 days later when my kids were playing with a bow and arrow set with suckers on the end of them we were told we aint allowed to do it again felt this was very uncalled for. We were advised to put a complaint in off the other staff member which we have now done but heard nothing as yet as a new member and first stay in club site this has really put us off returning in my opinion they dont want kids there at all. This is a shame and feel we have now wasted money in becoming a member of the club. I run my own business in Gretna Green (Scotland) Fuel station, Workshop repairs and 24hr recovery and confirm I am also scottish, and would never of spoke to customers in this manner. We will await the outcome of the complaint we have now filed

We had trouble with the same Scottish fella, we parked in a disabled pitch with a white peg, which we booked weeks ago. Two hours after setting up with our awning, he said we had to move as someone had booked that pitch the week before ( who didn’t have a disabled blue badge ) It nearly killed my husband to take it all down and move it again, he has a heart condition and is due to go into hospital for open heart surgery in 2 weeks. I was so annoyed that they insisted we moved, they were at fault as they never displayed it was reserved, I should have insisted we were not moving. When we saw who it was reserved for that made me more annoyed as they could have moved them to the pitch we had to move to. Graham and Julie ( assistant managers....who should be the Managers ) were lovely and couldn’t apologise enough to us, but the damage was done. I doubt we will come back here, especially if that Scottish man is still here, he has no people skills at all, he isn’t the credit to your site, the assistant managers and other staff are   😡🤬😡🤬😡

I am writing a review on behalf of my daughter who has had her membership stopped for 12 months.  She too felt intimidated by the Scottish man warden.  My daughter and family booked 2 nights end of July and were designated a pitch away from the Festival on the park. They were new to caravanning and didn't know the rules about pitching and were given no instructions in the office (they arrived a bit late due to traffic).  However their EHU was only 10 metres and wasn't long enough even after moving the van nearer to next doors pitch where the electric post was  (the legs were on the grass) but the wheels were still on the hard standing.  She range the mobile wardens number at 9.30 pm to a disgruntled Scottish man who suggested she buy a 25 metres in the shop.  He asked her to move her van back on the pitch but as she explained the children were asleep in the van they would move it in the morning.  However, in the morning as they were near  the exit, they couldn't move it as there were so many vans and caravans leaving the site, the Scottish warden could have helped them by getting off his tractor and directing traffic as he saw them struggling.  They decided to go into Southport and came back at 2 pm, they were ordered off the site.  I have been a member of this club for 14 years as motor homer and before 10 years as a caravanned and feel disgusted at the way a first time caravaner has been treated.  My daughter has lost £84 (one night at Southport and membership fees) and will not be renewing her membership.  I feel ashamed by the way my daughter has been treated and the intimidation she has received by this warden.
