Just returned from a weekend break to southport caravan club site. Fantastic site clean new and big pitches. Really close to beach and shops. The only negative to this site is that there is no facility for late arrivals. We set off on Friday 26th June and unfortunately there had been a road accident on the M6 which caused several hours of delays. The sat nav was indicating we would arrive at around seven thirty but the traffic was still really heavy stop and start. I telephoned the site to explain that we maybe late and was advised that they had no facility for late arrivals and basically if we were not there by eight o'clock then we would have to find somewhere else !!!! Not at all helpful. We spent the rest of the journey anxious as we were too far to turn back but not knowing if we would make it on time and then would have to turn around and go home was quite stressful. We did however make it with ten minutes to spare. This was the only negative thing I can say about the site staff not that helpful in these circumstances. Other than this would definitely recommend the site and will return hopefully when there are no traffic delays
