Long weekend

This was our first time at Southport and overall it was a pleasant experience. Few downsides: we were on the featureless new section, whilst it was clean and tidy it was just a two sided row of gravel pitches with a thin sliver of grass between each one, it really needs some shrubs and flowers. There is no turning circle on the new section when you get to the end, we watched endless caravans trying a thirty point turn as there were no spaces left. Also there was no wifi coverage on part of the site which is quite frustrating as we paid an annual fee but could only sign on when in reception! On the upside the toilet block on site was spotless and warm, the service points were extremely well maintained and the whole site is perfectly placed with the large Victoria Park on one side and a nature reserve on the other. A pleasant stroll across the park brings you to the edge of town with great shopping along Lord Street.
