We travelled from Morecambe to Southport for 3 nights Feb half term 2017, two adults and 2 children aged 10 and 16. After we had negotiated the floating road and be aware you really do rock and roll we arrived at Southport. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome by the wardens. Pitches are spacious and well set out. The site is adjacent to a park which is great for ball games and bikes and for those that like a remote controlled car track. Southport is a pleasant 15 minute walk, the shopping centre is great a library that has an art gallery and loads to do for all age groups. When we returned from our walk we were stopped in our tracks by the rooks coming to roost for the night a sight to behold. Whilst were there we also went to Formby beach famous for red squirrels the kids loved the free exercise equipment. As we were very busy we did not spend a lot of time on site but the facilities were immaculate whatever time you went in, the site is quiet, clean and tidy and the wardens are lovely. We aim to return.
