What a site
Having just returned from a three night stay I can only reiterate what has already been written about this site.
So peaceful possibly because it was outside school holiday time, and there were very few campers on the grass pitches. However, there is plenty of space for each pitch so I’m sure busy times are well catered for.
I love the new two post pitch marks. So easy to line up with them and much appreciated. I also like the initiative of turning off the bollard lights on the electric hook up. Being able to see so many stars was amazing.
The site is beautifully kept and grass pitch areas protected by neatly trimmed hedges. I agree with a previous reviewer that the hard standings are a bit stark but they do look newly appointed so perhaps it just needs some trees to grow.
The site is 5-10 minutes from a bus route that runs from Newport to Ryde via Sandown and Bembridge so access to other parts of the island can be car free. Just make sure you know your times as this route has only 1 bus per hour in each direction. There is a good cycle route on the other side of Newchurch (beyond the church) which I used to walk into Godshill and Sandown. Godshill was about 5 miles, Sandown about 2 miles.
My only gripe was that the small shop had no milk, on my arrival on Tuesday, and none expected until Thursday and the nearest shop was a drive away. Would suggest campers arrive with the basic.
A lovely lovely site. Well done team
