Superb site especially the grass pitches

This site is excellent, especially if you opt for the grass pitches which are kept in immaculate condition and are very level and well drained. Best of all they are reasonably private with enormous hedges providing shelter and an attractive appearance. I took the opportunity to inspect the hardstanding pitches while I was there and felt these to be less attractive. There is nothing particularly wrong with them but they did not benefit from the superb hedges and privacy of the grass pitches. The deal where you get the ferry crossing included makes this a very reasonably priced site and the longer you stay the better value it is! There is a lot to do in the area with an excellent cycle route on the Red Squirrel Trail on the site of the former railway line, which goes to nearby Sandown and Shanklin and also has a branch up to Newport and Cowes. Another outstanding local attraction is the Garlic Farm to which entry is free. This has it all with a lovely walk, a superb cafe and a shop, selling just about anything and everything to do with garlic. The car park even has a free EV charging point! The site facilities are very good although there isn't much of a shop. Newchurch hasn't got one either, but there is an excellent pub The Pointer Inn. Although Newchurch is very close it is not a pleasant walk there, as the road is quite busy and has no pavements for much of it length. I'd also add that the staff on the site is extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning!
