It's possible that it was bad timing but the site pitches were in very poor condition, churned up by motor homes that had trouble moving on the soft wet grass, this made the site unattractive. There are not enough hard standing pitches for today's caravaners who seem to be moving to motorhomes. A site of this size needs more than one toilet block. Having said that the IOW is a great location and the Whitelink Ferry service is very good, we used the Lymington Yarmouth route and got on earlier ferry's than booked both ways, very accommodating.
