I have relations on the IOW that are not too far from the site so I thought I'd combine "family duties", cycling and a short holiday break. You couldn't wish for a warmer welcome from the site management. Extremely friendly and very helpful. The site was kept to a high stand of cleanliness considering it was at the height of the season with so many visitors, thank for your hard work in making my stay such a pleasure. Planning to return towards the end of the year.

Friendly personel & great site
Great site, well run with friendly helpful staff. Facilities kept clean and staff work hard. Situated in easy reach of everything on the island. Grandchild loved it.
Second time here and returning next year. Thank you for a relaxing stay.
Excellent Site
This was the first time we had stayed at this site and weren't disappointed . The site was in a lovely location and well maintained as they always are with the caravan club. We did have to wait to check in but this seems to be an on going problem due to the ferry times and no where to stop and wait on route to the site. The Wardens were very apologetic about this and did everything they could to get us onto our patches asap.
There was a local pub just 10 minutes walk away which is always a nice treat. Lovely walks from the site and local bus service routes nearby if needed. The site also had a list of places on the island where you could park a camper van which is always useful.
We would certainly come back again.
Very Regimental
Arrived early as ferry changed crossing time, but we were turned away from the parking area, we went back at 12.30 and still not allowed on site on the hottest day ever recorded. Pitch was empty so no reason. My cat was really poorly in the heat and I was desperate for electric for fan as cold water to cool him was not working. Opened barrier exactly to the second on 1pm, and staff running around full of self importance . We have been to so many places and have never come across this before. Then we went to buy an ice cream and we had no cash on us and was told only cash for ice cream but you could buy anything else for much less money and use a card. Worse treatment ever on any site which spoilt the stay.

Fantastic week in Southland
Had the best time with incredible weather over the past week.
Great site -especially for cyclists like us. Close to the Red Squirrel trail that has a fab cycle track to most of the Island. We cycled to Sandown, Shanklin, Newport and Cowes with lovely lit stops along the way.
Walking distance to 2 pubs with great food (the Pointer and Fighting Cocks.
Clean and well kept site with lovely helpful staff.
Only down side was the strict rule not to arrive b4 1pm -even 10 minutes b4 you are turned away and not able to wait on site. The only other thing was finding your spot to set up -you are not given a plot but asked to find one which is a pain after a long drive there.
However -you can get over such things and thoroughly enjoy your stay.
A great site
We had a great stay on this site, the wardens were so helpful and cheery, always ready to help. A great site and location, we will definitely be back
Southlands IOW
Lovely site, shame about the 1.00 rule.
If you arrive before 1.00 you are turned away nowhere to park so you have to drive around the Island till you can return to Southlands.
I’m not on my own about this, most people I spoke too had issues with the 1.00 o’clock

Gem of a site
We have just returned from our holiday to the Isle of Wight. Southlands is a little gem of a site. very clean and tidy. The Wardens were very friendly and helpful. There is plenty to do and see on the Island, we ran out of time so will be back again soon.
Just looking
The wardens were very welcoming and were on hand to offer advice concerning the size of our awning. The site was very clean and the toilet/shower blockes were spotless. All pitches were well marked. 2 pubs within walking distance. Garlic farm not too far away. Donkey sanctuary and Monkey world were also close by. A very good campsite located in a great area for visiting anywhere on the island. No complaints from these campervan tourists.
