Thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Lots of lovely walks nearby and several beautiful NT places to visit all in easy driving distance. Peaceful and well looked after site with helpful wardens. Shame the Club deems that the grass pitches cannot be used till May especially over a busy and very dry Easter week. Site was classed as fully booked but when you arrive because the grass pitches are not available, the site looked empty!
Peace and quiet
Just back from staying at slinfold stayed for one week such a lovely peaceful site lots of places for walking very helpful and friendly wardens who keep site clean and tidy people in the village which is ten minute walk from site are also friendly we have two dogs so stopped to talk to a lot of the residents also.one shop which sells a lot of basic things and the red lion pub where staff are very nice had a very nice meal there only down side to holiday was an obnoxious young lady who was fowl mouthed and drunk in charge of a baby who was ranting that she does'nt get any me time sad person so loud would still highly recommend place though would go back to site. Well worth another visit .
Would a restful stay but site was great
Chose site as close to where my daughter lives, the site was quiet and looked well looked after by the volunteer wardens., great for walkers and cyclists with the Downs link running parallel to the site. People before stopping should note there are no toilets showers etc, also very poor tv reception. Do not beware of new lenght of unit rules and phone the site as units over 6.5 meters can book but only by phone to site. My stay was not restful due to personal issues but I would not hesitate to book again.
Smashing site.
I have been coming here since 1977, always enjoy coming back lots of friendly people to meet and old friends from past visits. Children and adults love riding and walking the old train line, the downs link. New pitch restrictions this year so if you have an awning, best to check first. Very nice village within easy walking distance as well. Come on Caravan Club spent some money here for basic improvements , the road is dreadful and needs many more speed humps because some members think it OK to speed between caravans even when everyone is tightly parked up. Needs two more humps one by the water point and one further down urgently. Still love it though.
Overnight Stay
This was our 1st stay at a Caravan and Motorhome club site in our Motorhome. We chose the site due to the close proximity to cycle and walking routes. The location could not have been better with the disused railway running adjacent to the site.
Our check in was very quick, efficient and friendly. The staff were very helpful. Being only a small site our pitch was easy to find, being flat and level. The reception has some useful local information. There is some slight road noise from the nearby A29 but this did not detract from our experience.
There are no toilets on site but a very clean CDP and Motorhome service point.
Would highly recommended this site if you are looking for a peaceful relaxing stay
What a delight!
What have we been missing, we'll definitely be back! The wardens are very helpful, the site is small but welcoming. Ideal for walkers and cyclists alike due to the Downs Link being easily accessible from the site. 2 very quiet chill out weekends this year hopefully more next year...
Where would we be without volunteers?
This small site with good walks and cycle tracks is now one of our favourites, close to home in a lovely small village, it is perfect for us in our motorhome, there is a bus stop outside the park but you hear little road noise, as your sheltered by trees. The wardens are incredible, kind and welcoming, all wardens should follow their charm and the fact that they are volunteers is something we admire. Thanks for running such a great will see you next season.
Excellent overnight stop
It was dark when we arrived so we were glad of the warden's assistance in getting us pitched.
Excellent overnight stop
It was dark when we arrived so we appreciated the warden's helpfulness in enabling us to pitch the caravan in the dark by using a space at the end where there were no other caravans parked.
Off the grid
I chose this site for the proximity to Guildford and some National Trust properties nearby. It is small for a club site but that was part of the appeal. The wardens were helpful and friendly but not 'in your face'.
There are no toilets or showers but that's not a problem for the weekend. We didn't get to the nearest village and its pub but heard it was good.
We visited 'The Spike' in Guildford which was a fascinating look at workhouses and the facilities for the down and out. Guildford Castle is small but interesting. We went to Leith Hill Place, which has only recently been opened by the National Trust. It was the home of the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams and has connections to the Wedgewood family and Darwin..... Great scones!!!
