A warm welcome will be given for anyone visiting Shawmeads. We were greeted on arrival, had our pitch explained to us and a map of the site provided. Although this is not unusual the friendliness of the staff was very much appreciated. We had a choice of two hard standing pitches, and both of which were in great locations. Close to the facilities and service points. As with other reviews, it is essential to have some form of transport as the site is down country lanes. Aberaeron is the closest town, a small harbour, Chinese, chippy and pizza restaurant. There are also a couple of pubs. It’s very colourful and friendly and well worth a visit if only to taste the Hive ice cream and sit and watch to world go by. As a wheelchair user they accommodated me and my two cats onboard and ensured we had a great time. The slipway is very steep, but no steps and plenty if help available, you only need to ask. Unfortunately the wet fish shop was closed when we were visiting, and therefore I didn’t get my crab sandwiches, but the chippy, pasty shop all open and serving great options. There is some beautiful scenery, waterfalls and lovely places to visit locally. Well worth a visit, and can’t wait to return later in the year.
