Great site, with onsite bar and swimming pool!
This was our first visit to this site and we would happily come back if we're in the area.
The site is well situated in a quiet village, with nearby access to a beach. We walked into Cromer on the beach and it took about 30 minutes, with a 20 minute walk back on the road. The site itself is well laid out, and we got a pitch at the back of the area behind the pool, which was a decent size and well-shaded by trees - a bonus in the hot weather we encountered, but maybe a bit noisy if you get heavy rain! The site is fairly sloping, so blocks were needed.
The toilet facilities were good, with adjustable temp and flow on the showers. The shower cubicle was fairly spacious, with hooks and a toiletry rack, but, disappointingly, no bench seat in the drying area. I find it quite difficult these days to balance on one leg whilst getting dressed without my clothes getting wet! As ever, the cleaning is done in the morning at the most inconvenient time, but this can't be resolved without the addition of a second shower block. I made the mistake of only checking the times on the ladies' showers, so didn't realise that the gents would be done at a different time.
The best part of our stay was the Wanderer Pub. Onsite food and drink at a reasonable price. The food was excellent and the staff were very good. There are a couple of pubs and a chippy in East Runton and, of course, plenty of options in Cromer, but we just didn't bother after eating in the Wanderer the first night. The swimming pool looked lovely, but we didn't manage to find time to try it.
