Great location but very cramped pitches
We stayed at Seacroft for the last 2 weeks of July, so peak time. The site is in a lovely position with easy walks to the beach at East Runyon or into Cromer itself. The facilities are really great, the pool is lovely for kids and the Wanderer Bar does great meals and take always which given the horrendous queues in Cromer for fish and chips was a great help. I expected Norfolk to be flat so I was surprised to find that the site is far from level and you definitely need levelling blocks.
The site staff were wonderful friendly and very helpful, and Mike was a firm favourite with our dog, possibly due to him always a dog biscuit.
The downside to this site is the fact that many of the pitches are extremely cramped, most of the hard standing pitches have no space to sit out and their jockey wheels are almost in the road. We had a grass pitch which wasn’t too bad, however the main grass area has extra caravans in the centre which meant that we were looking directly at the rear of a caravan for the entire fortnight. I measured the distance and we were correctly pitched but only just 6m from the back of the caravan in front this made hitching up to leave nearly impossible due to their awning. The camping field by comparison is well spaced out and there is plenty of room. I wish I could upload a photo but that’s not possible.
This site would benefit from losing around 10-15% of the current pitches to allow for more room between caravans and give people a decent outlook. I realise that this would increase the price but it would be worth it.
We’d never been to Norfolk before, I would go back but I would choose a different site where we there is more space.
