rainy weekend in wiltshire
we arrived on a filthy wet Friday last weekend. the site is hidden behind a car garage and not particularly well sign posted. once on site the staff were helpful and courteous and the shop had all the essentials. the lower site access road is quite narrow and there's a tricky section to get our twin wheeler through. The pitches are quite tight but there is a variety of types in different surroundings and aspects to chose from. Most are flat except the ones near the entrance. the main A343 is a little noisy so pitching away from the road in the trees helps to mask the noise. The site has a limited dog walk and no areas for kids. the lack of awnings on caravans suggests most people use this as more of a transitory site. the facilities are very clean and tidy and recycling is available. Located close to Salisbury and Andover means there is plenty to see if you are happy to drive. not a site I would necessarily recommend to stay at for any length of time if you are a high exercise dog owner or have children as you would need to go offsite by car every time for walks or to play.
