Lovely Peacefull Location with Excellent Dog Walk. - Great Wardens
We stayed for three nights over the Easter Weekend. - I would imagine that this is ‘usually’ an extremely peaceful and quiet site which is why I have given it 5/5 for this. – However, we had ‘the dog from hell’ pitched next to us that yapped almost constantly for the entire weekend. – We have a dog, god bless him, that is as quiet as a mouse and despite ‘the dog from hell’ inevitably setting off a lot of the other dogs on the site that may otherwise have remained quiet, ours never murmured. We mentioned this in passing to The Warden as we left, who assured us that she would have dealt with it had we mentioned it. – However, we preferred not to upset ‘our neighbours.’ – A tip from a retired Dog Handler, – all dogs know their name. You have to give them a command with it!
I have rated the facilities 4/5 as there is only one shower block which some pitched at the furthest distance away may see as a problem. Seeing the glass as ‘half full,’ the walk did us good and increased our amount of exercise over the weekend. As with all C&M Club Sites, you could eat your meal off of the floor in the facilities.
The location, being a good distance from ‘civilisation’ is perfect for us and we will be back as this is what ‘we’ want from our camper van trips. – If you expect a short walk to the nearest pub or shops, you will be disappointed.
Only 3/5 for ‘Good for Families’ as there is nothing here for children. Being ‘nimbyist’ I’m hoping to put people with children off, at least for when we go again. – Not that we’ve got anything against children, it’s just that we’ve been there, done that, got the tee shirt and ours are now adult and left home. – We are looking for something different now for our breaks away.
Very friendly helpful wardens. Thank you again. – In the words of ‘Arnie,’ “I will be back!”
