Enjoyable - would go again
We have stayed at this site before. This time was for a long weekend 23/07/15 - 26/07/15. We met the assistant wardens on arriving who were really wonderful with us, in fact after driving around the site we decided on a pitch and on driving up to the pitch a lady from the outfit which had arrived after us was standing by the pitch to secure it although we had arrived with our outfit at the pitch first. These wardens diplomatically explained that pitches were on a first come first serve basis, so you can see how impressed we were that the wardens were happy to apply this fair system. 6 miles from Salisbury and 8 miles from Andover a great position for site seeing, one of the advantages of this site is its secluded pitch areas e.g. Ruths Roost so if you arrive with friends can pretty much pitch in your own area, providing not already taken, but do get used up quickly. Only one toilet facility up by the reception so a little walking up hill for those at the end of the site. I couldnt get Wifi so dont think this is available on this site. Information room was excellent and we had a meal in a local pub in small village about 3 miles away towards Salisbury West Tytherley The Black Horse open Thursday - Sunday. Food and drinks was reasonably priced at £20 per head for the evening for 3 courses and drinks. The menu selection was vast and the food exquisite, a lot of home made and also fresh fish menu from Brixham for those who enjoy this type of food. Can thoroughly recommend this site. I dont think that there is many facilities for children this is why I have scored good for families as low. Access to site is short about 300 metres but narrow only just enough room for one caravan, hedges at the front could do with a trim but not sure whether this is owned by the CC.
