Traffic outside site unbearable

Have been to this site many times in the last 10 years, however this will be the last time due to the traffic noise outside the site & the massive increase in the volume of vehicles in the local area, there are numerous supermarkets & fast food outlets including a Warburton's bread factory now in the immediate vicinity which operates 24hrs a day. There are no pelican or zebra crossings for pedestrians the nearest which is 800yds away outside Sainsbury’s & to get to that you have to cross a very busy road which is now no longer safe for anyone especially children & cyclists. This is a great pity as the wardens really look after the site & it’s facilities but the traffic noise now is constant 24hrs a day. For some reason my review shows 5 stars this is not correct, I gave no stars for good for families & peace & quiet but for some reason the review gave 5 stars

Excellent run site

We stayed at this site for 3 nights 1-3rd of this month October…nicely situated for us for a family meeting up locally. We had a great pitch (1) near the excellent clean facilities, the site was well run and kept remarkably clean…. Just across the road from a retail park, which was very handy. And only 2 miles to Bognor by bus which you could get very near.. a big Sainsbury’s was nearby too. Thank you very much for a well kept pitch and site… nice also having safety barrier which made you feel more secure Thank you Sue Clarkson and Terry Wootten

Spotless campsite

Although Rowan Park is surrounded by retail parks, it is an oasis of calm next to a small nature reserve. The staff are lovely and keep the facilities scrupulously clean. Kay was really helpful when it came to planning cycle routes too. Our own pitch was quiet but we were aware that some were exposed to more traffic noise so silence can’t be guaranteed. The nearby roads are busy but there are footpaths and cycle paths so that it is easy to cycle to Chichester, the railway station and seafront with very little on road cycling. I would recommend the train to Arundel and we also took the train to Brighton and cycled back from there (worth checking the wind direction as it’s much easier with a back wind!) So, a nice site in its own right but also easy access to lots of other great places.

First Trip on a Club Site

This was our first trip as new motorhome owners to a club site. We had a lovely greeting from Kay at reception, who explained everything we needed to know. The site and grounds are lovely and very well maintained. We were impressed with the toilets and showers - they were immaculate and constantly cleaned. The wardens were very helpful and provided useful information for us newbies! We were aware that there was road noise before coming, but this didn’t impact on our enjoyment. However, if you want a tranquil site, this may not be for you.

Weekend break

The site is clean and tidy, the wardens were friendly and helpful. Within walking distance of several shops and takeaways. The picturedrome is a lovely cinema which is good value for money and worth a visit. Depending on where you are on the site will depend on how much road noise you get ,it is right next door to a busy main road but you could get that anywhere. There are lots of cycle paths which can take you into town and these are reasonably flat.

Great stay

We have stayed on this site 4 times this year. We like it. It is an ideal spot to go to attractions and seaside places. We also visit friends when we come here and they love visiting us on site. There is quite a lot of traffic noise because of the sites location but they warn you about it on the web site so can expect it. The facilities are always clean and to a high standard. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great break.

Not my favourite site

1st and last visit, female warden seemed very unhappy in her job, complaining to a guest about having to deal with WiFi issue whilst we were checking in, she was also complaining about the pay cut she took from an IT job. Not rude but far from friendly. We were told about wet grassy pitches and we avoided them due to recent rain. Pitches were a good size, pegs didn’t go in that easily on our hard stand. Couple of minutes drive to seafront, lots of shops within walking distance, Tesco etc. Great camping shop nearby. On our pitch we couldn’t really hear the main road, just the odd idiot on a motorbike which was very loud, but get that anywhere. planes flying over from local airstrip was good to see. Some pitches are placed behind other pitches this means that campers walk very close to car and neighbours awning to get to washing facilities, unnerving late at night. Pick your pitch wisely. Only 1 washing machine in laundrette, site clean and well maintained. Didn’t really see wardens much, wished we had as kids constantly going round on road with scooters was annoying, no park so ensure you entertain your children. Kids were out until dark, won’t be long before a child is hit by a car. Assume this is why sites are now banning bikes etc on sites. As usual the few ruin it for all. Would hope they would do a walk round as we were disturbed several nights by a guy playing a banjo until gone 10pm.

Overzealous petty wardens

Having just stayed at Rowan Park I would like to say this site is not suitable for children, there is no play area so the children have to play on the campsite road, knowing this my granddaughters took scooters as did other children. The children were not noisy just riding up and down normally when a warden told them off for riding the wrong way on the one way road system. This is so petty in all the years we have been members of the caravan club and been to many sites I have never come across such pettiness, one of my granddaughters is slightly autistic and this put her off going out to play for the rest of the holiday which spoilt it completely for her. Come on caravan club if your wardens are going to be so petty make this site adults only!

Its ok but it is noisy

We had a nice time but I don't think this one is for us. Not the club's fault but the road is very busy, on some parts of the site you may as well be camped on the roundabout! Again not the fault of the club but the roads do seem to be used by the racer types at night and can be very loud. Close to supermarkets for essentials etc.. Wardens helpful.
