This stop wasn't planned. Great for a ferry crossing from Portsmouth harbour.
We had to cancel our one night stay at Hunter's Moon due to our cancellation of our crossing from Poole. Due to a technical issue with one of Condors ferries.
The alternative crossing was from Portsmouth 2 days later.
We managed to secure a pitch with the help of the wardens from Hunter's Moon. Who were fantastic and understanding.
When we arrived on site, the warden that served me knew who I was and our story.
The wardens in the office were all friendly and welcoming and understood our situation.
The grounds were well kept. Great play area for the kids.
Only issue that I had was the state of the toddler room (no fault of the wardens).
The first night that I went to use it, the bath was full of DUPLO lego, towels on the changing table, teething toys on the floor and the loo brush in the sink.
My first thought was that a young family had left their stuff behind in a rush and that they could go back at some point to collect their belongings.
The next morning the stuff was still there.
I had to get my 5 years old showered in the ladies (which isn't a problem). I reported this to the female warden at the office. She apologised, but it's not thier duty to look into the toilet and shower blocks after people have used them. If the allocated time to clean is between certain times then I don't expect them to go back in every 2/3 hours.
I think sometimes people treat the sites as dumping grounds, which isn't right, members or not. Have some respect for others, please!!!
