Dog paradise and quite nice for humans too
All the usual CMHC cleanliness and maintenance. Rookesbury Park is a large site with lots of open space but sectionalised so doesn't feel huge. Its very well drained and grass pitches are great though leveling blocks are needed. The site is in the middle of a large wooded estate which is criss crossed by public footpaths and many varied walking opportunities. There is loads to do for everyone in the local area.
Whilst the site feels a bit remote it's only a couple of miles from Wickham and small supermarkets pubs and food outlets. It is also possible to hear the M27 when the wind is in the wrong direction. This can be a bit intrusive to the purists of peace and quiet.
We don't have children so its difficult to say if its good for families but there's a large field with play equipment.
The site has great facilities for dogs and I'd give it 5* from the dog perspective. There is a huge cut grass exercise field with deer fencing and as a bonus there are various dog pit stops dotted about the site for quick toilet breaks, it's really thoughtful because last thing at night I don't want to go to a big field in the dark. There's also a dog shower. The site being spacious is a bonus for dog owners because you can get space between you and your neighbours.
I couldn't give 5* due to terrible connectivity. I expect mobile signal to struggle due to location in the woods but WIFI? The club free wifi was terrible and we were pitched about 20 yards from the aerial. I wasn't prepared to buy the premium without assurance it was 100% better than the free. In this day and age its poor. Club needs to sort it out.
overall its a 4+ really. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will return.
