Relaxing & Peaceful site
We stayed at Rookesbury for 5 nights from 14th September.
We arrived on Monday and did not have to move our Campervan until we left to go home on the Saturday.
Site is located in a very quite sheltered area surrounded by trees - the woodland walks can be accessed through a gate at the back of the site and we walked each day we were there and found many different tracks to explore - excellent for a squirrel chasing dog.
We also walked into nearby Wickham for breakfast using instructions supplied by the Wardens which only included crossing 1 busy road - the rest of the route is bridal/footpaths.
Another walk through the woods that we would recommend is to the Roebuck Inn where we enjoyed a very substantial lunch served by friendly welcoming staff - even our dog was made to feel welcome.
Our week ended with a fish & chip supper from the chip van that visits the site every Friday.
Facilities excellent with extra restrictions working well and all the wardens always had a smile to greet you.
Highly recommend this site if you want to arrive, set up and not drive anywhere for a few relaxing days.
