First time stay

Spent three nights at this beautiful, peaceful site in July 2022. Very friendly staff. Loved the converted wooden pallets which now house a selection of herbs. Huge field to excercise dog. Lovely forty minute walk through woodland and along the Meon Valley cycle/ foot path into Wickham. Cannot fault it.

Another glorious break

As regulars to this site we stayed for 19 nights this time including during the heatwave. The hard working wardens excelled themselves this time in particular. First 2 wardens were moved to another site that was short staffed, another warden was taken to hospital very poorly & another warden was still suffering after a site accident before the season even started. To cap it all their computer system was off line for several days. Despite all this & working in the heatwave everything was kept spotlessly clean, all their jobs were completed, campers numerous problems sorted out & all with a smile on their faces & a cheerful word for everyone. The site is lovely & peaceful except at weekends & during school holidays but even then it doesn’t become intrusive. There is now a catering wagon 3 or 4 nights each week, we recommend the hog roast on Tuesdays & sometimes Sunday too, Tacos on Thursdays (our particular favourite), the regular fish & chips on Fridays & pizza on Saturdays though we haven’t sampled the last one. We can’t wait to return once the school holidays are over.

First time stay

As new members, this was our first experience of CAMC. Here's hoping all our future stays are going to be as successful. Staff good humoured and very friendly. Shower block etc. very clean and sensibly positioned for all. Our son enjoyed making friends and playing football on the playground. We stayed just the one night and took in a pre-season friendly in Portsmouth and the Historic Dockyard. Site ideally located for visits to Portsmouth. Looking forward to returning soon.

Review Pitch with Services

We stayed 2 nights here July 22 including the so called national emergency heatwave day (BBC bunkum). Excellent venue and location well away from any disturbances and surrounded by woodland. Very peaceful and quiet. Clean and well designed shower blocks etc. Warm welcome from friendly staff. Pitches widely spaced and services excellent. Highly recommended.

In the middle of nowhere- Ideal !!!.....PS

Meant to add that the dog field was the biggest out of all the 4 sites we had stayed on during our trip with 2 or 3 dog pit stops along the way. The addition of the dog shower was great for our mucky dog on the return from our walks into the village. None of the other sites we stayed had one of these

In the middle of nowhere- Ideal !!!

A site in the middle of nowhere it seemed. You couldn't hear any traffic just birds and wildlife. Stil able to get good wifi and tv receptions through the vans onboard wi-fi and tv ariel. Just a 20 minute scenic river walk to get into a small village with 3 lovely bars/restaurants ( one only open thurs- Sun), 2 tea-rooms, a co-op and some other lovely little shops. where we stayed the field was so large we virtually had the sun all day even though we were surrounded by the trees; a right little suntrap ( furthest field I think) A lovely warm welcome and a great three day stay Would definitely stay again

Would be perfect but for yappy dogs……

We have recently stayed at this site and cannot praise the staff here enough. They are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for their visitors. We due to leave the site when our car developed a slow puncture. This was on the Saturday when we were due to leave on the Sunday. The tyre could not be repaired until the Monday but this was not a problem, the staff kindly let us extend our stay with absolutely no fuss. They took away our stress immediately and couldn’t have been nicer. The fish and chip van on the Friday night served delicious food and in a really cheerful way. The facilities were spotless and included a bike and dog wash which was very useful for our bikes. The location is fabulous. The site is amongst woodlands and gives excellent access to the walks and cycle trails nearby. Lots of attractions within a few miles, we visited Hambledon Vineyard which was nice and Fort Nelson, which is free, is a must visit. No issues with accessing the site with our caravan, plenty of pull in spaces on the driveway in. We had a lovely grass pitch and were allowed to pitch nose in to be able to enjoy some shade in the scortchio weather. Our only criticism and this does not reflect on the staff, was the number of yappy dogs on the site. We’ve never seen so many small dogs, with such annoying voices in the same place before. All in all we would definitely recommend this site as being one of our favourites and we will definitely return.

Excellent campsite

A beautiful campsite with clean, modern facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful. We used the site to visit Historic Naval Dockyard in Portsmouth.-short drive to Fareham train station and then easy train ride to Portsmouth Harbour. A lovely easy walk to Wickham down a disused rail track was shown to us by the staff. Well worth a short stroll to Wickham
