Peaceful Remote Stop Over Site

Spent 2 nights in July as part of a Northumbria tour. Site is easy to locate and peaceful. Pitches are well spaced and all seemed to be in good condition and level - we struggled to identify any 'bad' pitch. The facilities block is first class, clean, spacious shower cubicles (sensibly with a bench/seat to place your belongings) and lovely hot water. Close to what is referred to as a 'country park with lakes' it is very overgrown and not as assessible as one would expect. There is nothing in the local vicinity; no public transport, no pubs/cafes nearby (nearest cafe is 3 miles away); however there is a garage on the main road which is well stocked as a supermarket/off license in addition to daily newspapers etc. ITransport is a necessity if you want to go anywhere off site as the site is quite remote. As with many club members, we enjoy seeing the wildlife when out and about; unfortunately, everywhere you look at this site there are warning signs for Adders, both in the immediate area and in the surrounding undergrowth - this was disturbing for us and our dog, so for this reason, we were not sorry when our departure day arrived and we moved on.

There is a licensed restaurant in Branton called the Bosk which is less then 1 mile away. It is intended to serve the many holiday lets in Branton but it is open to all. There is a bar area if you just want a drink and the restaurant has special nights such as Steak Night, Pizza night ect.
