I've just written a long and detailed review of our incredibly lovely stay last week, then it disappeared in front of my eyes, which is terribly frustrating. As I can't repeat everything again, I'll just say 1) The Wardens are incredibly patient, professional and always stop to chat if you accost them about their business , yet they manage to get everything pristine and lovely 2) The site is beautifully situated by the River, which bubbles charmingly across cobbles and stones, and there's a wee beach which water loving doggies adore 3) Lots of wildlife, especially birds. The reclaimed gravel works just yards from the site's gates gives the longest, most gorgeous walk along the edges of huge lakes ,full of birdlife. 4) I echo the comments of others re the coast , Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell Bay etc We'll be back later this year.
