River Breamish. A best kept secret!
This was our first visit and we haven't stopped talking about it since. This probably means we will never get a pitch again!
It is a lovely spacious Club Site with IMMACULATE up to date toilet block all managed by two superb wardens, Maggie and Richard Walker.
This was September and sadly we had struggled with the weather on the west coast of Scotland and retreated to Edinburgh (never get enough of that city and another good club site). We then decided to break our journey home to Derbyshire with a stop in Northumbria. Hence River Breamish. Thank you Maggie for your assistance in sorting out a booking that suited our needs.
We did have a 48 hour period of strong winds here, waking up to lots of debris and were amazed at the speed with which the team cleared up the whole site.
Plenty of places to visit both on the coast and inland. Alnwick must do's include Barter Books, huge range and Thai Vibe, great food. Cragside, National Trust, is a must - fascinating house.
The area is full of good walks including a very nice stroll around a lake reserve immediately adjacent to the site.
WE WILL BE RETURNING!
