A delightful site
We have just returned to Wiltshire following a 10 day stay at this site. We received a warm welcome and were surprised to be able to drive round and pick our pitch which was very good. Overall the site is kept clean and tidy by the wardens who work hard to ensure all is well. No need for an alarm clock on this site as the local population of Greylag Geese from the neighbouring lake make sure you get a wake up call in the morning - unless it is raining and they seem to stay put.
This site is well located for touring around Northumberland without the caravan and there are some lovely places to visit both near and far. There is a great independent pet shop in Alnwick should you need it. Very helpful and friendly staff (as we found everywhere).
The only disappointments were; people not clearing up after their dogs, despite the provision of dog poo bins and the wardens putting adequate signage up asking owners to pick up after their dogs. We have two and managed so there are no excuses. Secondly peace and quiet was disturbed two or three occasions with one caravan watching films in their awning and another one whose inhabitants insisted on listening to their radio loudly with the door open.
We also met some lovely people, some of whom had not travelled very far to be on the site.
We are already planning to return next year to visit see more of what we missed :)
