Spacious open site with spectacular outlook

We stayed on this site for two nights on our way up to Northumbria. It's very easily accessed from A1, despite the extensive roadworks currently in progress at Scotch Corner. The site has a good open feel, and views to the south are special. Our pitch was at the upper end, near the A66 and some traffic noise was inevitable. The belt of high trees along the northern boundary do cut down vehicular noise, however. Our pitch was a very generously proportioned gravel surfaced pitch. It did have a cross fall which necessitated the use of a levelling wedge. There was a slight lip to it also, which caused the caravan brake to engage when reversing in. The amenity block is outstanding, both in terms of cleanliness and decor. A gate pass is necessary for exit. The site is well positioned for touring the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors and for visiting the historic town of Richmond. All in all a very pleasant site.
