We will return,
This was our first visit to Poolsbrook. We chose it because it was close to the motorway and not too far from Nottingham where we were visiting family (25 mins without the caravan). Set in a country park there are lots of paths and lakes to explore. We were greeted warmly by the wardens and quickly chose our pitch...number 2... nice and easy to reverse into and no pitch directly opposite so we wouldn't feel overlooked.
A quick set up for us thanks to the service points being close. A quick cuppa and then we walked into Staveley to get supplies at Morrisons, this was perhaps 15 minutes from the site entrance.
The site is spotless. The wardens were going around picking up any stray litter, cutting the grass and making sure the bins were regularly emptied whilst we were there. The amenity block is huge and again spotless. Loads of room in the shower cubicles and the bench in there is very handy too. I liked that the radio was on as background noise.
The pitches themselves are huge, with room for your caravan, awning and car all on hardstanding. We only stayed 2 nights but enjoyed it so much we will return again later in the year. Although the site is less than a mile from the M1 we couldn't hear it at all.
