Poolsbrook is a modern CAMC site with quality facilities. We used it for a midweek break to visit Bolsover Castle and Renishaw Gardens. Both are only about five miles away so easy cycling if you don't want to drive off site. I'd recommend Renishaw as possibly one of the best we've visited in the country. Poosbrook is very close to the M1, ( 'though still quiet,) so could be ideal as a stop over while long distance travelling. The adjoining lakes are ideal for a relaxing stroll. The bird life on them, great crested grebe, greylag geese and coots added to the experience. I'm unsure of local attractions for children. ( As seniors we weren't looking for them.)
