Good for families

Just Saying....

Finding the site was easy from motorway. Happy Days! Female warden at check in was not at all friendly, in fact I thought we'd upset her just by arriving. Male warden 'Andrew' was friendly and very helpful. Facilities were very clean. The site is eerily quiet with not many children / signs of life around at all. Over zealous enforcement of site one way system for kids on bikes, or anything else with wheels! Kind of got the feeling children were only welcome if they couldn't be seen or heard, as ours were encouraged by the warden to take their bikes to the park, next to a large deep lake, away from the site, which doesn't feel like a safe suggestion as the kids are 11 years old!! If I'm honest this site is for not for families in any way. Which is a little strange as its advertised as being suitable for families. My experience at Poolsbrook has put me off the Caravan and Motorhome Club. This is a shame as for the past 6 years I have used this club for family holidays all over the UK, in fact I've used club sites four times this summer, ( Abbey Wood, Norfolk Broads, Crossways and Centenary Site in the New Forest ) and not once were the rules around the one way system so fiercely reinforced or in fact ever spoken about. We had a very unfortunate incident at this site involving a adult threatening children within our group. A sad and unnecessary affair. As much as I feel Andrew (warden) was very polite and was positive about our kids behaviour , I also feel the threats made towards minors were not at all taken seriously, instead we had to take his advice on the chin and alter our plans to accommodate a difficult and unreasonable man. This incident made a number of us change our behaviour significantly, watch our every move for fear further confrontation and some of us reflected on the choice of club site. Finally a message for the Caravan and Motorhome Club. Deal with the real issues and deal with them well. Be proportionate and treat those who are reasonable fairly. Reasonable, young people including families are the Clubs future and should not be made scape goats to excuse unacceptable behaviour by the few. Stop hiding behind insignificant rules!
