We stopped off for one night on our way to Yorkshire and again on the way back. It’s an excellent site and so well maintained. The facilities were all clean and modern. The walks all around in the Country Park and adjacent trails are very pleasant and accessible too. The initial welcome in reception was friendly and comprehensive. We thought that we may have to travel back early on account of one of the dogs being unwell. But the park had no pitches available but when I explained to the lady she was so understanding and helpful. In the event we travelled back on our scheduled day and the reception lady again was very helpful and offering us a pitch close to the exit to the dog walk eased things a great deal. So only an overnight stop on our journey to the north and back again but very impressed by the site and the CMHC staff. Would certainly plan to return and explore the local areas. One word though steer clear of Markham Vale “ off motorway” services. 149.9 pence per litre for ordinary unleaded makes the normal motorway services a bargain.
