Our stay at this site was well worth the wait. Ideally situated right next to a country park, was just wanted we needed to walk our dogs before breakfast. The walk around the lake was 1 mile and if you wanted more there were loads of walks criss-crossing the site; we really enjoyed the walk to the canal. There were plenty of country towns surrounding the site and we particularly enjoyed our hike up the trails at Matlock Bath; the views from the top of the gorge were awesome and for those who are unable or just a little lazy there is always the cable car to take you up and down the sides of the gorge. The site was very well looked after and the pitches were immaculate, grass well cut and the wardens were constantly battling the weeds on them; a picture card site. We will certainly paying this site another visit and for sure it has been added to the list of sites we like to visit frequently
