Poolsbrook is an excellent site for a newbie, only our third trip in our motorhome, it is very close to the M1, so no narrow roads to worry about. The site is next to a lovely park and there are various walking/cycling routes very near. The site was spotless and the wardens where very helpful and friendly. We had a problem with our water and the wardens suggested we call DCR Caravan Services, their number is in the information room. We were becoming very worried as it had just gone dark and water was leaking from the motorhome, however Dave from DCR Caravan Services spent 20 minutes on the phone going through all the possibilities of the problem and he was very patient with me, as I am not very technical. He offered to come to the site in the morning if the suggestions he gave me hadn’t worked, which was very reassuring. Luckily after the call the problem seemed to have been fixed and we had an enjoyable weekend, except for it being wet and windy.
Excellent Site
We are currently on our second visit to this site in less than 2 weeks and and due to visit again in mid February.
The wardens are very helpful and cheery.
Good facilities and right next to Poolsbrook Park.
Lovely accessible site just off the motorway but very peaceful
Just returned from my second visit to Poolsbrook. The staff there were excellent on both occasions - very helpful, nothing too much trouble. This time, I was travelling alone with my teenage niece, so (unusually for me) used site facilities for showering. As a wheelchair user, I found the accessible room perfect! It was spotlessly clean and the shower was lovely and hot. My assistance dog had plenty of space to help me but stay dry. The walks from the site and around the country park are all accessible too. My niece is currently planning a family holiday here, as she absolutely loved it!
Excellent Site for first timers
We stayed just one night on site, our first night as CAMHC members. The staff were super welcoming and happy to tell us everything we needed to know, about the site and club sites in general. Facilities were impeccable and the whole site was well maintained. Will visit again.
Fantastic site
This site and its wardens are a credit to the Camc .
The wardens are lovely and the most helpful we've met to date, nothing was to much trouble , the site is super clean all facilities excellent.
The dog walks from this site are fantastic as it sits in poolsbrook country park.
We will return to this site without a doubt ..
Great site and location
Modern clean and well laid out. Clearly very popular. Staff extremely helpful
Geocaching Trip
First must thank the hard working wardens for sorting out our booking to make a very pleasant stay for us no moving pitches, cheers.
We have stayed at this nice site a couple of times before and will do so in the future as it suits us fine. We go Geocaching on our bikes and the site is well placed for this and walking the area. Lots of flat bike paths in the area so well done the local council for providing good paths etc.
Lovely overnight!
Another lovely stay at Poolsbrook. One night on journey south. Good site, facilities spotless and well kept site. Very nice helpful wardens.
Another lovely stay
We have stayed at this site a few times and our last visit didn’t disappoint. Very friendly wardens, good clean facilities and the best in the club for their flower pots/baskets providing a beautiful site as you drive in. Easy access to walk around the lake and watch the bird life and easy access to the motorway. On the down side the ladies toilet block is far to warm in hot weather at the shower end, better ventilation is needed. Also it appears to be the normal thing to walk across other peoples pitches and not only on this site - please have a little respect and walk around the pitch and not across it.

Very Noisy, what a shame
We arrived at Poolsbrook to the most enthusiastic Warden welcome of the year, and the usual lecture about speeding, pitching up etc.
We had a service pitch and they were really good, with nearly level pitches, to be honest I put one side on a 25mm block and we were level so would be okay without I guess.
So down sides, and there were a few sadly...
The road noise is really bad and cars and motorbikes constantly racing along. The weekends there is a nearby off road motorcycle area so noisy.
The amount of dogs on site, 4 in the van next to us for 3 nights were impeccable however site was full of constantly yapping dogs all over. People let the walk across pitches and wee anywhere.
Drivers speed around and wardens do nothing about it, but this is usual on all CAMC sites these days.
People walking across your pitch is something you will definitely suffer from as loads of pitches are a short cut. Wardens should advice people arriving of this.
The "nod" to an environmentally aware site is given by a "No Mow" area, which is nice, but on a site of this size, an area that is less than 2 square meters is taking the ? Well what the dogs do on your pitch!
Access to country park is brilliant as to cycle paths canals etc but is it worth it for the constant noise? I'm not sure and had to put up with it for 14 nights.
P{pictures of no Mow zone available, come on CAMC make an effort there was so much grass area that could have been handed over for diversity
