Potential to be windy, but great views
We visited this site in mid-August 2016. The weather was generally cloudy with very strong winds, so sitting outside and having a barbeque was not an option most days.
the best views of Plymouth Sound are from the lower levels - where the ground slops quite steeply, requiring several blocks of wood to chock the van.
The top of the site has less of a view but is more sheltered when the wind blows from the North east (as it did for some of the time).
Facilities limited to 2 drinking water taps and 1 waste water / chemical loo emptying point.
A useful ferry from Mount Batten (15 mins drive) across to Plymouth harbour saves the drive around and parking problems. The ferry costs £1.50 each way for adults and runs every half hour between 7.30am and 10.30pm.
