First time back for over 20 years
We came back to be close to our son who is working in Swansea. The last time we were here he was about 2 years old. We couldn't remember much about the site although I thought we were closer to the sea than we actually were, it takes a brisk 20 minute walk to get to the sand dunes and if the tide is out another 20 minutes to the actual sea. There was some noise from boy racers going into the adjacent Park at night although the admission charge payable at all times must put off most. We had a bit of aircraft noise the first day but generally this is a lovely quiet site. Except in the toilet blocks where we have to endure piped local commercial radio station feed - not good. I don't know why we have to have this, it's totally unnecessary. One of the service areas didn't have a light that stayed on all the time (there seemed no rhyme or reason when it would come on) and it was very dark trying to empty a chemical closet. Wifi couldn't cope with a nearly full site over the weekend. As ever excellently run site by hard working wardens, and it is nice that a small alternative toilet and shower rooms are available when the main toilets are closed for cleaning. The journey from Llanelli is slow with many speed cameras as well as mobile speed camera vans, so be warned. There are also lots of 20mph areas. The vets in Burry Port are excellent and looked after our dog who became ill very well.
