Wardens are excellent

We have recently returned from Pembrey. We thought the wardens did an excellent job of keeping the site in very good condition. We were very impressed about how friendly the wardens were and how they were willing to give good service to the guests and always had a smile when you encountered them. The thing that really impressed us was that they did do their best to enforce the club rules. So few sites do these days and you end up with lots of dogs not on leads and children(and on occasion some adults) kicking footballs about. People who join the club should read the rules and if they cannot abide by these rules then they should look elsewhere. Keep up the good work and hopefully more sites will start enforcing the rules which are there for everyone’s enjoyment.

Excellent

I’m sure it’s all been said before, just to add. Park facilities were better than I expected. As motorhomers I like to be in walking distance from a dog friendly pub. I didn’t think this had one but the cafe next to The Park’s own campsite, served alcohol and food til 8pm, with great sheds for the sheltered outdoor experience. Loved the natural feel of the club campsite with nice grass pitches. Taboggon Run, fun for adults too. Fab site for families but if like us, you prefer quiet, avoid school holidays.

Short Break at Pembrey

Just returned from a three-night stay at the Pembrey Club Site. The site was very busy with very few vacant pitches. Even though it was full it did not detract from the overall peacefulness of the environment. The wardens are doing a fantastic job. The facilities on site were immaculate and their genuine friendliness shone through. We had four miniature Schnauzer dogs with us who thoroughly enjoyed running free through the adjacent country park and the beach a Cefn Sidan. We enjoy visiting Pembey during the school term as the site retains its peaceful ambiance. This is a first-class site in a glorious location, with professional, helpful and friendly wardens.

First Visit

Enjoyed our stay, we had booked a fully serviced pitch but as another reviewer pointed out the row of serviced pitches are not in the best place they are close together and we had to reverse MH into trees/bushes to get it fully onto hard pitch. We asked if we could move and the staff were very helpful not only did we have a much nicer pitch but they refunded us the extra it cost for the fully serviced spot. Good walks for dogs plus the beach and Country Park are easily accessible.

Return Visitor

This was our 3rd visit to Pembrey once again had a wonderful time, lots of cycling and things to do. However the conflicting report on arrival times, we endeavoured to arrive just after 1pm (exactly 1305hrs) and found at least 4 or 5 arrivals already setting up which means they must have arrived before 1pm. Whilst we were there we noted that some wardens allowed access prior to 1pm others not until 1pm. We travel approx 3.5 hrs to reach Pembrey and it’s annoying when we have ensured we adhere to the times laid down that others can arrive early and gain access. Also the ongoing problem with dog owners allowing their dogs to defecate on pitches, this happened within our sight at least 2/3 times, admittedly it was cleaned up however the residue still contaminates the pitch. As non pet owners (I appreciate this will cause controversy) we would like a clean pitch to set up on, perhaps pitches for non pet owners may be an idea. We stayed in a serviced pitch, they are not in the best position, perhaps a move to the row behind would be better and provide more serviced pitches. The van that visits each weekday is great and his custard tart is to die for, only wish he visited every day and perhaps stocked daily papers as well. We will be returning later in the year. Thank you to all the hard work keeping this site clean and tidy.

Great site

Driving access to site is easy. Great site. Wardens friendly and helpful. Spotlessly clean, walking access to the Pembrey Country park is gained by a gate on the west side of the site which keeps you away from the traffic going into the park.

Who Could Ask For Anything More?

We returned to Pembrey after a very long time away, and it was simply wonderful. We could not fault any part of our stay. The facilities were spotless, the staff were very helpful, and the grounds were in immaculate condition. We will return as soon as we can find another space in our calendar.

Lovely site

Must say a few words about the reception received on arrival. We were unfortunately early. Big mistake! Having been told big no no!! we were instructed to enter site and drive round and exit site as not allowed to wait at entrance, where we was not blocking any one. We drove out and found somewhere to turn around not easy as road is narrow. We then waited on main road causing congestion for other road users. I must add that the site was virtually empty it was early in season. The warden was not very accommodating .Having visited other sites with 1 pm.arrival time. We have been able to wait at check in and in some cases allowed to enter. No one can accurately time their arrival depending on distance travelled or road conditions. Another negative is the insistence that dogs must be taken off site for toileting, not always easy. The positive is the sites location , huge beach and great outdoors space. Worth returning even with abovementioned.

Enjoyed the stay despite the frosty initial welcome

We made the mistake of arriving 15 to 20 minutes before 1pm and were refused entry despite dozens of free spaces on site. I know the site rule is in after 1pm only but we've stayed here before and found others arriving well before that time. We've since had an even frontier welcome at Tredegar Park when we were 10 minutes early so I do wonder whether head office have told wardens to strictly adhere to the start times? Can anyone confirm? Apart from that we again has a nice stay here and would recommend the site fully. Just don't turn up early!

Lovely site - fully serviced pitches not in the best location!

The site is lovely, quiet and ideal for both families and couples alike. My only gripes with this site are - fully serviced pitches are in an awful position and should be avoided and are not worth the extra cost. I found this site to be expensive when compare against the independent site on Pembre Park. I paid £133 for fully serviced pitch (which was in an awful position, in my view) compared to £95 on the Pembre park site with same facilities. Apart those gripes. Great location, with excellent facilities, let down by pricing and location of pitch.

Happy as Larry
