Good for families

Lovely area and site - perhaps not so good for young children

We had a great 2 weeks at Pandy. The wardens Bill and Julie were really friendly and helpful and keep the site and facilities in great condition. The upgraded toilet block is excellent and I never had to wait for a shower in the morning. the only minor niggles (as mentioned by others) are the trains (which we got used to fairly quickly) and the different sized pitches (although Bill and Julie show a lot of common sense about pitching on a smaller one and it wasn't a problem even with our awning. Abergavenny is a nice town with plenty of independent shops and cafes - the market day was fun. Other places we particularly enjoyed were Goytre Wharf, Clydach Gorge, the Big Pit (free but £5 to park), Llangynidr, Llanthony Priory and the steam railway at Blaenavon. There aren't any play facilities for children (which we didn't mind at all). There's a pretty little river running to one side of the site and a good dog walk. There are also plenty of walks for humans in the area! The vast majority of people drove slowly on site which was a nice change from some other sites we've visited - thank you. Mrs P wants to return which means we probably will!
