Great site for walking up into the hills/mountains, very clean and great wardens

Firstly I would highlight the wardens - they are very friendly, helpful and keep the site in an immaculate condition. We stayed for a long weekend (Thu-Sun) and managed two great 13(ish) mike hikes from the site (used Day Walks in the Brecon Beacons). Walks 2 and 4 can be accessed without having to use the car and only add a mile or so onto both walks. We visited two of the pubs in the area for a drink only (my wife needs a wheat/gluten free food and both only offered "traditional" food). The Skirrid Inn was quaint and friendly with a garden at the back. The Old Pandy Inn seemed to be more of a "locals" pub. We visited both around 4.30PM after the walks so the atmosphere may be different in the evening. There is a railway line between the main road and the site which does block traffic noise but of course you do get the occasional train which is noticable but not too obtrusive. That said, we were disturbed by a couple of large freight trains that passed through in the middle of one night! So overall a nice site, we will visit again and a thank you again to the friendly wardens who work hard to maintain the site in a very neat and tidy condition!
